Project example
Garage brick repair with matching, flashing, and final cleaning.
This repair started with damage around a garage opening. The work included matching the existing brick and mortar, rebuilding the area, adding copper through-wall flashing and weep vents, then cleaning the repair so the new work blended into the home.
Project sequence
The repair had to solve structure and appearance together.
When the damaged masonry sits in a visible opening, the finished repair has to do more than close the wall. The brick size, mortar color, joint work, flashing, and cleaning all affect whether the repair disappears into the original structure.
The existing home mortar color and brick had to be matched before the repair could be completed.
The damaged garage-area brickwork was rebuilt, including cuts, layout decisions, and replacement work around the opening.
Copper through-wall flashing and weep vents were installed above the garage door.
Brick cleaning was used as the final step so the new work could blend back into the existing wall.
